The US Department of Defense (Pentagon) has described the disclosure of highly sensitive US documents as a very serious threat to national security.
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin was briefed on the documents on April 6, Pentagon spokesman Chris Meagher said in a statement.
A Pentagon spokesperson said that the Pentagon team is checking whether the released documents are genuine or not.
He added that the Department of Justice is looking into how the documents were leaked.

According to news agencies, the US plan includes information on arming Ukraine to attack Russia.
