West Indies declared the first innings 447 runs with 6 out.
In reply, Zimbabwe declared their first innings at 379 runs for 9 out and tried to make the match fruitful.
West Indies adopted a defensive strategy and declared the innings on 203 runs with 5 out a few minutes before the tea break.
During the last session, the Zimbabwean batsmen faced the West Indian bowling line and scored 134 runs for the loss of 6 wickets.
The second match of the series will be played in Bulawayo from February 12.
