International Special Olympics Canada head coach Glenn Cordon arrived in Karachi on a week-long visit where he will provide training to Pakistani coaches for the Special Olympics World Games.
Special Olympics Pakistan Chairperson Ronak Lakhani and other officials welcomed Glen Corden on his arrival in Karachi.
It should be noted that in connection with the preparations for the Special Olympic World Games to be played this year in Berlin, Germany, from June 17 to 25, the training camp of the national athletes was organized at Karachi Port Trust Sports Complex.
Head coach Glenn Corden visited the camp along with Ronak Lakhani and reviewed the performance of the coaches and players.
On this occasion, Glen Corden said that he felt very happy to come to Pakistan and I am enjoying being hosted here.
He said that this country has its place in the world in terms of sports, the coaching seminar will prove to be very useful for Pakistani coaches, which coaches will be able to train and guide special athletes in the future and in the light of this, Pakistan The performance of special athletes will continue to improve.
Glen Corden further said that special athletes are an inspiration to us, these children play their sport with heart and soul. I see the spirit of winning in Pakistani athletes. I hope these specials will perform well for their country in the World Games.
On this occasion, Special Olympic Pakistan Chairperson Raunaq Lakhani said that Glen Corden’s arrival in Pakistan is an honor for us.
He said that a two-day coaching seminar is being organized for the Pakistani coaches of different sports of Special Olympics in a local hotel in Karachi, in which head coach Glen Corden will teach the procedures, rules and regulations and other basic principles of different sports of Special Olympics. Others will provide detailed information.
Ronak Lakhani further said that the coaching seminar will not only give our local coaches the opportunity to train under the supervision of an international coach in their own country, but will also get exposure at the international level.
