China’s grip on global politics has become stronger, and an important agreement has been reached between Saudi Arabia and Iran to restore diplomatic relations.
Saudi Arabia and Iran announced this while issuing a joint statement with China.
According to a foreign news agency, Saudi Arabia and Iran will reopen their embassies and consulates in the next two months.
In the meeting between the foreign ministers of the two countries, the appointment of ambassadors and re-strengthening of relations will be discussed.
Saudi Arabia and Iran have also announced the restoration of a 2001 security cooperation agreement and 1998 agreements on economy, trade, investment, technology, science, culture, sports and youth.
Delegations from both countries agreed on the landmark deal in Beijing last week.
Saudi Arabia and Iran thanked China for holding the talks, supporting the talks and making them successful.
A spokesman for the White House National Security Council said that the US is aware of the deal and welcomes any effort to reduce tensions in the Middle East, including ending the war in Yemen.
Oman also welcomed the tripartite statement on the restoration of diplomatic relations.
China, Saudi Arabia and Iran thanked Oman and Iraq for hosting the talks in 2021 and 2022.
