Riyadh: The Saudi Civil Aviation Authority has issued new guidelines regarding pets.

Saudi Civil Aviation (GACA) has made it mandatory for passengers to register pets before travel.

According to the notification issued by the General Authority of Civil Aviation GACA, all airlines will inform the passengers in advance about the delivery of pets, while they will be obliged to apply to the Saudi authorities for the import and export of animals before travel.

GACA has reprimanded the airlines and said that action will be taken against those who attempt to bring or leave Saudi Arabia without a permit, while passengers will not be able to travel with an animal without a permit.
