Lahore: Pakistan Railways has decided to restore Awam Express.
Awam Express will run between the old route Karachi to Lahore and Lahore to Peshawar which will be launched next December.
Instructions have been issued to the Carriage Shop officials of the Railway Headquarters to prepare 18 bogies. Awam Express has been made up of Economy Class, Lower A Seb and AC Business Class coaches.
Awam Express was closed last year due to floods in Sindh.
On the other hand, Shalimar Express has been extended for one more month on its scheduled route Karachi – Lahore – Karachi via Multan and Faisalabad. The decision will be implemented immediately.
