A firefighter killed his own wife by burning himself in Mumbai, India.
According to Indian media, the mother of the deceased woman has told the session court related to the case that 33-year-old Lakhan, a former firefighter, had demanded one lakh rupees in the name of dowry, which she could not manage.
He said that my daughter was harassed physically and mentally and in 2017, Lakhan burnt my daughter Manisha to death.
The Indian court has sentenced Lakhan to life imprisonment and a fine if found guilty.
According to Indian media, the accused had burnt his wife by spraying thinner in October 2017, after which he was arrested the next day.
