After restrictions on women’s education and employment in Afghanistan, now male tailors have been banned from making women’s clothes.
Tailors in the Afghan province of Parwan say that Taliban officials have given them verbal orders that they cannot sew women’s clothes. The new ban has added to their economic woes.
On the other hand, the local authorities have denied giving such orders.
They say that the tailors have been prevented from measuring women’s clothes, not from chests.
