Karachi: Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that K Electric is a mafia which was supported by every government and ruling party and despite 18 years of incompetence and poor performance, K Electric is being imposed again on the people of Karachi.
While addressing a press conference at Noor Haq Institution, he said that only Jamaat-e-Islami has fought the people’s case against K Electric. Protests will be held on the siege.
He said that the option of long march and train march is also under consideration to get rid of K Electric mafia and its patrons, resistance and struggle against those who loot and destroy the country and nation will be intensified.
Naeemur Rehman said that the suggestions of Jamaat-e-Islami Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan should be followed for immediate relief to the people and for solving the problems. .
He said that the production capacity of these IPPs is 41,000 megawatts and there is a contract with them according to the same production capacity, but 9,000 megawatts of electricity is what we do not use but we have to pay for it.
He said that it has been 15 years since the People’s Party has been in Karachi, but it has not been able to cover the open manholes and sewers in Karachi. Incidents of losing precious human lives by falling into the open manholes have been happening day by day, according to a report. During the eight to nine months of this year, around 70 people, including women and children, have died due to these open manholes.
