Karachi: A board meeting of Sindh Teachers Education Development Authority was held under the chairmanship of Minister of Education and Culture Sardar Ali Shah.
Secretary School Education Sindh Ghulam Akbar Laghari, Executive Director Stida Haroon Laghari, Social Worker Shahzad Rai, Dr. Sajid Hussain and other board members participated in the meeting. A total of 4 agendas were presented in the board meeting.
Meanwhile, a detailed discussion was held regarding the agenda of the teachers’ licensing policy draft, the provincial education minister said that after the approval of the teachers’ licensing policy by the cabinet, the teacher who gets the license will be able to get a job in grade 16. He said that Sindh country. will be the first province where teachers professional license will be issued to be a teacher in the province.
Education Minister Sardar Shah directed that all the stages of license registration will be digitized, the meeting was informed that the validity of the license will be 5 years, which can be renewed on the basis of application, failing the test required for the license. If it happens, the test can be given again after 6 months.
Provincial Education Minister Sindh said that two categories of professional teaching license (elementary) and professional teaching license (secondary) have been kept for the license. Sardar Shah said that if the teachers already in the system pass the test for the license. Promotions and other incentives will be given.
It was agreed in the meeting that the Licensing Test qualification would require a B.Ed.Hons or MA education degree and three years of experience, various training modules would be developed by Stida to provide continuous professional development. Will be continued.
Sardar Shah said that a teacher recruited in grade 16 on the basis of trainings will be able to get promotion up to grade 20, while like other civil services, the importance of this profession will increase with the increase in grade of teachers on the basis of training.
He said that the teachers will not need to wait for the time scale for promotion, the education minister said that 700 new posts will be recruited in the first phase under teachers licensing.
