Karachi Kings gave Islamabad United a target of 174 runs to win

In the fourth match of HBL PSL 8, Karachi Kings gave Islamabad United a target of 174 runs to win.

In this match being played at National Stadium Cricket Arena in Karachi, Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan won the toss and invited Karachi Kings to bat first.

Kings suffered a big loss in the first over in the form of James Vince who was bowled by Roman Raees for a total of 5. He scored 4 runs.

This was followed by a fine partnership of 77 runs between Sharjeel Khan and Haider Ali, both of whom tried to steer the team towards a big score.

Sharjeel Khan was dismissed for 34 on a total of 82, but Hyder Ali and Matthew Wade added 35 runs to propel the team’s score.

Haider was dismissed for 117 trying to hit a six, he played an innings of 59 runs. He was dismissed by Faheem Ashraf.

Matthew Wade was then caught out for a total of 125. He had scored 18 runs while Imad Wasim was also caught out on the very next ball. Both were dismissed by Mohammad Wasim.

In the closing moments, thanks to Irfan Khan Niazi’s 19, Shoaib Malik’s 18 and James Fuller’s 12 runs, the Karachi Kings team managed to score 173 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

On behalf of Islamabad United, Ruman Raees, Muhammad Wasim and Tom Kiran took two each while Faheem Ashraf took one wicket.

It should be noted that this is the second match of Karachi Kings in the event, they had to face defeat by 2 runs by Peshawar Zalmi in the first match.

Both the teams took to the field trying to get their first win in the event.

The team of Islamabad United entered the field under the captaincy of Shadab Khan.

His other players include Hasan Nawaz, Paul Stirling, Colin Munro, Racy One Darson, Azam Khan, Asif Ali, Faheem Ashraf, Tom Curran, Muhammad Wasim Jr. and Roman Raees.
