Lahore: Anti-corruption transferred Chaudhry Parvez Elahi to Lahore on remand.
According to the spokesperson of Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab, the former Chief Minister of Punjab will be presented for physical remand in the magistrate’s court today. It should be noted that Parvez Elahi was taken into custody by anti-corruption yesterday from Adiala Jail.
Pervez Elahi is the named accused in the case of illegal appointments in the Punjab Assembly, on which Anti-Corruption obtained the travel remand of Chaudhry Pervez Elahi from the Anti-Terrorism Court as per the rules. The magistrate had rejected the anti-corruption plea for physical remand of Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, which was challenged in the court of the Additional Sessions Judge, where the anti-corruption plea was accepted.
According to the spokesman, Chaudhry Parvez Elahi challenged the decision of the Additional Sessions Judge in the High Court and this appeal was rejected by the High Court. In the light of the High Court decision, the Special Anti-Corruption Judge withdrew the bail decision of Chaudhry Parvez Elahi. Later, anti-corruption has taken Chaudhry Parvez Elahi into custody after fulfilling all the legal requirements.
Anti-corruption will again seek the physical remand of Chaudhry Pervez Elahi in the magistrate’s court today. There is a case of illegal appointments in the Punjab Assembly against the former Chief Minister, according to which Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and other accused made illegal appointments. Spokesman Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab says that actions against corrupt and corrupt elements will continue.
