Karachi: A three-member team from Indonesia reached Pakistan to restore the Indonesian aircraft parked at Karachi Airport due to technical problems.
According to the details, a three-member Indonesian team has arrived in Karachi to restore the Indonesian aircraft suffering from technical problems. Indonesian experts will lead the PIA team to repair the aircraft.
The damaged ATR aircraft of Indonesia has been awaiting repair in Karachi for two and a half months.
ATR 600-72 aircraft of Garuda Indonesia International Airlines arrived in Karachi on July 26. The aircraft with registration number PKGAD landed in Karachi for refueling, but before take-off to UAE, the engine of the aircraft failed. A technical fault had occurred.
The plane also took a test flight from Karachi Airport at 10:25 AM on August 19, but the engine broke down after the 21-minute flight, after which the plane was landed at Karachi Airport. After which the 9-year-old aircraft left Karachi and the crew members left for Indonesia.
Later, on the request of the airline, the aircraft was shifted from the airport runway to the PIA hangar, waiting for the engine from abroad to maintain the aircraft in the engineering hangar.
According to the experts, the straight engine of the plane is irreparable, the committee started contacts to order a new engine. PIA sources said that the daily rent for parking the aircraft is being charged at $500.
