Karachi: 2 brothers who came from Lahore drowned while bathing in the sea at Hawke’s Bay, while 2 semi-unconscious youths were shifted to the hospital.
4 youths drowned while bathing in the sea at Box Bay Sandpit in Mari Porthane area. On receiving the information, the life guard and the diving team of Edhi reached the spot and immediately started the operation to rescue the youth who drowned in the sea. During this time, 2 youths drowned and 2 youths became semi-unconscious.
The dead bodies and the unconscious youths were shifted to the Civil Hospital, where the dead youths were identified as 35-year-old Numan son of Abdul Hameed and 23-year-old Farhan son of Abdul Hameed, while the semi-conscious ones were identified as Talha son of Azam and Osama son of Abdul Hameed.
According to the police, the two youths who died by drowning were brothers and had come from Lahore to the house of their cousins Talha and Osama residing at F90, Paposh Nagar, Ashraf Nagar area of Karachi. The deceased youth along with their cousins had reached Box Bay Sandpit from home to celebrate a picnic after dawn and it was reported that they drowned around 8 am.
The police handed over the bodies to the heirs after legal proceedings.
