Srinagar: It has been 7 years since the martyrdom of Burhan Wani, the young man who breathed new life into the movement to liberate Kashmir from the usurping occupation of India.
There is a complete strike in the occupied valley on the martyrdom of Burhan Wani. Shops, business centers and educational institutions are closed while roads are free of traffic. The occupying Indian forces blocked various roads by installing barbed wire to prevent Kashmiris from taking out anti-India rallies on the martyrdom of Burhan Wani. Mobile and internet services have also been suspended in several areas.

Burhan Wani influenced a large number of youth by effectively using social media for Kashmir’s freedom movement. The Modi government had fixed the price of Burhan Wani’s head at Rs 10 lakh.
More than 200,000 Kashmiris attended the funeral of Burhan Wani Shaheed, while his body was wrapped in the flag of Pakistan and taken to the grave.
