The spell of Monsoon rains increased further across Punjab including Lahore

Lahore: The Meteorological Department has predicted that spell of Monsoon rains will increase further across Punjab including Lahore, Monsoon rains will last till July 10 instead of July 8.

An alert has also been issued to other institutions including WASA regarding the rains.

Meteorological Department says that there is a possibility of rain in Lahore today in the afternoon, but at this time it is hot and humid in Lahore. The maximum temperature in Lahore is likely to go up to 33 degrees Celsius.

On Wednesday, July 5, the 30-year record of rain in Lahore was also broken, the city continued to receive heavy rain from 4 in the morning due to which the low-lying and posh areas were flooded, while water remained standing on the main highways for several hours.

On the other hand, heavy rain has continued in Balakot and its surroundings since late night, Kaghan valley and adjacent places also rained while hailstorm also occurred at many places.

The torrential rain has caused flooding in the rivers and the Kunhar River. The meteorological department says that the rains are likely to continue for the next 12 hours.

Water level high in Rawalpindi Nala Nai

Due to heavy rain in the twin cities, the water level in Nala Lai rose up to 7 feet, all institutions including the army remained on high alert.

According to the Rawalpindi Flood Control Room, Rawalpindi Islamabad will record a total of 29 mm of rain, Syedpur 14 mm, Golra 41 mm, Shamsabad 13 and Chaklala 24 mm.

Due to the rain, the water level rose up to 7 feet at Katarian in Nala Lai, the administration has put all the agencies including the Pakistan Army on high alert in view of the danger of flooding.
