Minister of State for Finance Ayesha Ghos Pasha says that it is a great achievement to save the country from default after the disastrous floods, and very important steps have been taken for the development of agriculture in the next financial year.

He said this in the meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Finance.

He says that incentives have been given for the remittances of Pakistanis living abroad, after a long time the development budget has been kept at more than 1000 billion rupees.

He said that after the decrease in global inflation, inflation in Pakistan also decreased, FBR has proposed to impose new taxes of 223 billion rupees.

Minister of State for Finance Ayesha Ghos Pasha says that 88% of the new taxes are direct taxes, the new taxes of FBR will not be a precursor to inflation.

He says that the Prime Minister and the leaders of other parties are serious about the economic pact. When the Prime Minister was the leader of the opposition, he also invited the government of that time for the economic pact.

Ayesha Ghos Pasha said that the IMF’s demand was that there should be a primary surplus which is in the new budget, as opposed to the IMF subsidies which have been reduced in this budget.
