Washington: American President Joe Biden nominated Dilawar Syed of Pakistani origin as the new head of the US Small Business Administration, which was approved by the US Parliament.
According to the global news agency, Pakistani-American businessman Dilawar Syed was sworn in as the Deputy Administrator of the US Small Business Administration (SBA) on June 8, 2023.
The US President nominated the Pakistani-born businessman for the post two days ago and the majority in the Senate approved his appointment.
Dilawar Syed’s nomination to this position was strongly objected by Trump’s Republican Party, but 5 members of the Republican Party also voted in favor of his appointment in the Senate.
Pakistani-born Dilawar Syed currently serves as Special Envoy for Trade and Business Affairs at the US State Department and has previously been the CEO of various technology companies.
Meanwhile, Dilawar Syed also introduced its software products for small and medium businesses. He held important responsibilities during the former President Obama’s tenure.
