Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has expressed reservations about playing World Cup matches in Ahmedabad.
In its report, the Indian media has quoted PCB sources as saying that Najam Sethi has made it clear to the ICC that Pakistan will not play any match in the Indian city of Ahmedabad during the World Cup, except for the final match.
According to Indian media, Najam Sethi has informed Barkley and Allardyce that Pakistan does not want its matches to be scheduled in Ahmedabad, but if we have to play a final match there, then there is no objection.
He asked the ICC that if the national team gets permission from the government to go to India for the global event scheduled in October and November, then Pakistan’s matches should be scheduled in Chennai, Bengaluru and Kolkata.
ICC chiefs met Najam Sethi in Lahore last week.
According to reports, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) wants to schedule Pakistan’s match against India at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
On the other hand, after India’s refusal to come to Pakistan for the Asia Cup, there are chances that Pakistan will not go to the neighboring country to play the 50-over format mega event.
The decision of India’s participation in the Asia Cup hosted by Pakistan is expected by the end of this month.
