Standing Committee on Defense decided to visit GHQ to show solidarity with the armed forces

Islamabad: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Defense has decided to visit GHQ to show solidarity with the armed forces.

The meeting of National Assembly Standing Committee on Defense chaired by Chairman Farrukh Altaf was held at the Parliament House, the committee members discussed the current situation of law and order.

Condemning the terrorist incidents of May 9, 2023, the meeting adopted the position that every citizen of Pakistan must respect the sanctity of Pakistan’s institutions and public property. He also paid tribute to the martyrs.

Committee member Burgis Tahir presented the resolution which was unanimously approved. The resolution states that the Standing Committee on Defense expresses solidarity with the armed forces of Pakistan, the armed forces are the pride of our nation.

The Committee strongly condemns the terrorist incidents that took place on 9 May, such incidents are deplorable and intolerable and should be dealt with sternly. The resolution reads, “Unanimously condemning the incidents of violence on May 9, which have deeply hurt the sentiments of the nation, we stand with our armed forces.”

The committee recommended that those responsible for the violent incidents be dealt with with iron hands. In the committee meeting, Additional Secretary Ministry of Defense thanked the committee for recognizing the role and sacrifices of the Pakistan Army to ensure the prosperity of the country.

The committee also unanimously decided to visit the General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi as a sign of solidarity with the Armed Forces of Pakistan. The Standing Committee adjourned the Institute of Space Technology (Amendment) Bill till the next meeting.
