Islamabad: In the first seven months of the current fiscal year 2022-23, domestic exports decreased by 7.16 percent, while the trade deficit reached 19 billion 630 million dollars with a record decrease of 32 percent.
According to the Federal Bureau of Statistics, during the first seven months of the current fiscal year (July to January 2022-23), exports decreased by 7.16 percent to 16 billion 46 million dollars.
According to the report, the country’s exports in January were two billion 21 million dollars with a decrease of 4.31% compared to December. Compared to January 2022, exports have decreased by 15.42% last month.
According to the report, during the same period, the volume of imports has decreased by 22.53% to 36 billion 10 million dollars, in this sense, the trade deficit has decreased by 32% in the first seven months.
July-January trade deficit has reached 19 billion 63 million dollars, while the size of the trade deficit in the same period last year was 28 billion 85 million dollars.
