Karachi: An unknown suspect fled with a valuable mobile phone from the blind muezzin of a mosque in Gulistan-Johar, Shatarmalizm changed the password of the online app and also withdrew Rs 35,000.

A written application has been submitted to the Gulistan Johar police station on behalf of the victim Muezzin, the CCTV footage of the accused has also come to the fore.

An unknown suspect fled with a valuable mobile phone from the visually impaired muezzin of Jamia Masjid Al-Hadi in Gulestan Johor Block I.

Speaking to Express, Muezzin Muhammad Amjad said that he has been associated with this mosque and madrassa for the past nine years and has also completed his religious education here and after becoming a scholar, he is also the muezzin of the mosque for the past two years and teaches children. They are also providing education.

He further said that this incident took place two days ago on May 1st between Asr and Maghrib prayers, he was coming out of the mosque after Asr prayers when an accused came to him who said his name was Hasan and said that your voice Very nice, I will make a video while reciting your naat and upload it on social media, after which the video will go viral

Under this pretext, the accused took my mobile phone from me and said that I will make a video with your mobile phone because the result of your mobile phone camera is good.

He said that at the time the accused entered the mosque, the mosque was empty and all the people had left after offering the Asr prayer. There was also a copy of his national identity card in his mobile phone.

Shatarmalzam changed the password of the online app in the mobile phone and transferred 35 thousand rupees to other mobile phone numbers.

He said that he was collecting money little by little to pay Umrah and had also made a passport, but the accused escaped with his savings.

The mosque administration has secured the CCTV footage of the incident, which has been provided to the police and rangers, and the mosque administration demands that the accused be immediately arrested and the mosque’s muezzin be compensated for the loss.

The CCTV footage of the accused has also come to light, in which it can be seen that he parked his motorcycle outside the mosque and entered the mosque on foot and sat down in the mosque to lead the muezzin.

Muezzins are busy reciting naat, meanwhile the accused runs away seeing no one around.

The police have started searching for the accused and it is hoped that he will be traced soon.
