Sardar Ahmed Nawaz Sukhira served as secretary of various ministries including information secretary

Islamabad: Pakistan Administrative Service Grade 22 Officer, Cabinet Secretary Sardar Ahmad Nawaz Sukhira has retired. He had a farewell meeting with the President Dr. Arif Alvi.

Sardar Ahmed Nawaz Sukhira served as Secretary of various ministries including Information Secretary. According to the notification issued by the Cabinet Division, Cabinet Secretary Sardar Ahmad Nawaz Sukhira retired on January 31, 2023 on completion of his term. He also served as Secretary Privatization Commission, Secretary Information and Secretary Board of Investment and Secretary Trade.

Cabinet Secretary Sardar Ahmad Nawaz Sukhira paid farewell meeting to President Dr. Arif Alvi, in which the President appreciated his services in wonderful words. Sardar Ahmed Nawaz Sukhira was an officer of Pakistan Administrative Service. He joined the civil service in 1985.

Sardar Ahmed Nawaz Sukhira has served as Secretary of Commerce, Secretary of Information and Broadcasting, Secretary of Education, Secretary of Investment Board and Ministry of Privatization since April 2014 before taking charge as Cabinet Secretary on April 16, 2020. He received his MPA degree from Harvard University in 1994.

He received his MA in Development Economics from Williams College in 1993, BS in Economics with specialization in Industry and Trade in 1983 from the London School of Economics. He did his schooling from Aitchison College, Lahore.

Sardar Ahmed Nawaz Sukhira has also been a Fellow of the Center for Development Economics, Williams College, 1992-93 and an Edward S. Mason Fellow, John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, 1993-94. Sardar Ahmed Nawaz Sukhra also received the award of the World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program in 1992-94.
