Islamabad: The indictment of Sheikh Rasheed on the charge of conspiracy to assassinate Asif Zardari has been delayed once again.
The indictment proceedings against Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed on the statement regarding the allegation of conspiracy to assassinate Imran Khan on People’s Party co-chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari has been postponed again.
The trial against Sheikh Rasheed was held in the District and Sessions Court Islamabad, in which his lawyers submitted a copy of the expulsion case filed in the High Court. When the matter was heard in the Islamabad High Court, the court adjourned the hearing of the case till June 3, after which the indictment proceedings against Sheikh Rasheed were again delayed.
Earlier, Sheikh Rasheed appeared in the court room along with his lawyer Naeem Panjotha. Before Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah, the lawyer said that applications for expulsion cases have been filed in the Islamabad High Court. The hearing should be adjourned till the decision of the High Court.
It should be noted that the Islamabad High Court has extended the order to stay the proceedings till May 31 in the 2 cases filed against Sheikh Rashid.
