Peshawar: The Peshawar High Court issued notice to the parties on the petition filed for the date of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly elections.
A two-member bench comprising Justice Ejaz Anwar and Justice Shakeel Ahmed of the High Court heard on the request of Speaker Provincial Assembly Mushtaq Ghani.
While appearing in the court, Mushtaq Ghani said that he is appearing himself due to the lawyers’ strike. I am the Speaker of the Provincial Assembly and it is a matter of election, it is going to be 90 days after the dissolution of the Assembly.
Speaker Provincial Assembly said that it is a matter of election, notices should be issued to the parties and the case should be fixed for hearing soon.

The court issued a notice to the parties and adjourned the hearing till April 19.
Speaking to the media in the High Court, Speaker Provincial Assembly Mushtaq Ghani said that today was the first hearing on the application, but the lawyers did not appear due to the strike, requested the court to give notice to the parties and give an early date.
