The rescue operation has been resumed today to search for the children who went missing after the boat sank yesterday in the Tanda Dam in the Kohat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to DC Kohat Furqan Ashraf, more than 25 madrassa children drowned when the boat overturned in the dam.
He has said that 11 children died due to the sinking of the boat, while 6 children were saved.
DC Kohat Furqan Ashraf has further informed that 14 children including the boatman are still missing, whose search is on.
He also said that the rescue operation involves Pakistan Army and Navy personnel, rescue teams and local divers.
According to the Kohat Police, a case of accident has been registered against the boatman and Axion Irrigation Department.
