Pakistan Super League team Lahore Qalandars player Sam Billings has said that coming here as a foreign cricketer, one can understand the value of cricket in Pakistan.
Talking to Geo News, he said that he is enjoying the experience of playing in Pakistan for the first time, the grounds are good here and the wickets are easy for batting.
“The atmosphere in the team is great, I’m enjoying the dressing room culture, it’s good to be part of that atmosphere,” said Sam Billings.
He said that the conditions of PSL in UAE were different, there the ball had to be hit with more force whereas here it is easier.
Sam Billings said that the house was full in all the matches in Lahore which was unbelievable, I hope I have satisfied the fans with my performance.
He said that every league including PSL has its own merits, there are enough bowlers who bowl at good pace which is not common in other places.
Sam Billings said that PSL is the top league both in terms of quality and entertainment, not a personal goal, the team’s win is important, I will do whatever I can for the team’s win, my commitment is to win the trophy for the Qalandars.
The Lahore Qalandars player said that Shaheen Shah Afridi’s leadership skills have been very impressive, he has to see a lot as a bowler and captain and he handles everything with great patience.
He said, “Hopefully this year, Shaheen Afridi will win another trophy for Qalandars. With Haris, Shaheen, Rashid and Zaman, our bowling attack is quite strong. It’s good that I am in his team and not in the opposing team.” .
