A Pakistani astronaut will participate as a payload specialist in China’s Shenzhou-24 crewed space mission, according to the China Manned Space Agency.
The Pakistani astronaut will stay in orbit for a short period before returning to Earth aboard the Shenzhou-23 crewed spacecraft.
This will mark the first time in the history of China’s manned space programme that Chinese and foreign astronauts will jointly participate in a spaceflight. It will also be the first time that a foreign astronaut visits China’s space station.
The development marks a new milestone in space cooperation between Pakistan and China.
