A laborer was killed when a pillar of a bridge under construction collapsed in Islamabad.
According to sources, the accident took place in Bhara Kahu area of Islamabad. As a result of the collapse of the bridge under construction, one worker was killed and several others were injured. When the pillar of the under-construction bridge collapsed, the work of filling the pillar was going on. An operation is underway to evacuate the workers buried under the debris. Three laborers have been removed from the wreckage and shifted to the hospital.
According to Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), a truck loaded with straw hit two pillars. After the accident, the shuttering work on the second pillar has also been stopped.
