Karachi: The federal government has requested 1,000 acres of land for a private export processing zone in Thatta district from the Sindh government for a private enterprise Pakkar Zone.
In the high-level meeting of the Federal Ministry of Industry, it was informed that M/s Pakistan Car and Missionary Zones Private Limited (Panams) needs land in Thatta district to build a private export processing zone.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Federal Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Secretary Land Utilization Board of Revenue Sindh, representatives of Port Qasim, and representatives of the Investment Department of Sindh.
Secretary Land Utilization told the meeting that there is land 6 km away from the national highway in Thatta district and there is a need to carpet the branch road to make the land useful.
The Chief Executive asked for an explanation that it has not yet been decided whether the Sindh government will carry out the development work in these 6 km or Pakams. , so as to facilitate the Pakams.
In this regard, the Sindh government has asked Pakams for the project feasibility report, financial close of the project or sources of expenditure, master plan, design and layout, geotechnical report and topographical survey and environmental impact analysis report, required documents. After finding, the case will be handed over to the committee.
Four decisions were unanimously taken in the meeting, the first being that at this stage Pakams will not provide the master plan and design layout as these documents will be prepared when the possession of the land is given, State Bank on behalf of the Department of Land Utilization. will be requested to hire a valuer to determine the value of the land.
The Department of Land Utilization will be bound to arrange to give 1000 acres of land and also construct a road of 6 km.
