Lahore: Consideration has been started on calling a meeting on March 8 to take oath of the members elected on specific seats in the Punjab Assembly.
According to the details, the meeting of the Punjab Assembly is likely to be convened on March 8, in which the members of the Assembly of the PML-N, PPP and other parties elected on the specific seats not allotted to the Sunni Unity Council will take oath.
According to the sources, only the members of the assembly who have taken oath in the presidential election will be authorized to cast their votes.
According to assembly sources, after the notification by the Election Commission, it has been decided to call the Punjab Assembly session one day before the presidential election.
In the meeting, Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan administered oath to the members elected on 21 specific seats.
It should be noted that after rejecting the request of the Sunni Unity Council, the Election Commission issued a notification of the success of the candidates on 19 seats of women and 3 seats of minorities.
