Islamabad: President Arif Alvi expressed concern over the tone of the summary sent by the Caretaker Prime Minister and the allegations made.
In a statement issued by President Arif Alvi, it has been said that the President of the country is not usually addressed as such in summaries. It is unfortunate that the Chief Executive of the country addressed the President in the first instance.
The statement added that the caretaker prime minister used unacceptable language in the summary and made baseless allegations. The President has always maintained the principles of objectivity and impartiality as per his oath and duties. The President cannot ignore the irregularities in the electoral process and the process of forming the government. The President has to consider the national interest for the betterment and harmony of the nation.
President Arif Alvi further said that the summary of the meeting of the National Assembly of the Prime Minister was returned in accordance with Article 48-1 of the Constitution. The objective was to fulfill the National Assembly under Article 51 of the Constitution, but my action was taken as a biased action. According to the objectives of the resolution, the people cannot be deprived of participation in the executive decisions of their country.
