Deputy Commissioner Islamabad's authority to issue MPO restored

Islamabad: The High Court temporarily restored the authority of Deputy Commissioner Islamabad to issue MPO.

Chief Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Tariq Mahmour Jahangiri issued the orders. The court temporarily restored DC Islamabad’s authority on the injunction application.

The court issued notice to the parties on the appeal of the Chief Commissioner and others against the decision of the single bench.

It should be noted that Single Bench Justice Babar Sattar declared DC Islamabad’s authority to issue MPO illegal. The Chief Commissioner and Home Secretary have filed an intra-court appeal against the single bench decision.
