In the quarter-finals of the Junior World Hockey Cup, Spain defeated Pakistan by four goals to two and reached the semi-finals.
The last quarter-final of the Junior World event in Kuala Lumpur was between Pakistan and Spain, with Abdul Hanan Shahid scoring a field goal in the 12th minute of the game for Pakistan to take the lead which lasted until the end of the first half.
The Spanish team made a brilliant comeback and secured victory by scoring four consecutive goals in the third quarter of the game against Pakistan.
Goalkeeper Abdul Rafi’s game was disappointing, he could not stop the easy ball twice on the penalty corner.
The Spanish team scored goals in the 37th, 38th, 41st and 45th minutes of the third quarter, the second goal from Pakistan was scored by Sufyan Khan in the 43rd minute on a penalty corner.
With Spain’s victory, the semi-final line-up of the Junior World Cup was completed where Germany will face India. The second semi-final will be played between the teams of France and Spain.
Pakistan will face Australia on December 14 for the 5th to 8th position matches.
