Swiss police have arrested a man who was carrying alleged explosives outside the parliament.
After the incident, the parliament in the city of Bern was closed for several hours.
The suspect was stopped by security officers yesterday afternoon, wearing a bulletproof vest and a pistol belt.
The accused was immediately tested and explosive particles were also found.
The suspect’s vehicle was parked in front of the Parliament building, police said, adding that the possibility that the suspect’s vehicle was carrying explosives cannot be ruled out.
Roads around the area were closed while nearby buildings, including the Parliament, were evacuated.
The police said that the vehicle of the accused was checked by the robot, but there was no dangerous item in it.
After 5 hours at 7 pm emergency measures were ended but the accused is still in custody for medical and physical examination.
Investigations have been launched by the Swiss Attorney General, civil and federal police.
