An important meeting of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Governing Council has been convened on September 25.
According to the sources, the PSL Council meeting is being called on the extreme insistence of the franchisees.
The first meeting of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee chaired by Chairman Zaka Ashraf was held.
According to the sources, the franchisees are unhappy for not even accounting for PSL 8, and the owners were not consulted in the appointment of the PSL head.
According to sources, the window of PSL is in February or March, the franchises have not even been contacted for the dates of the event.
PSL franchises are facing difficulties due to Emirates and South African leagues while registration of foreign cricketers with other leagues is also a cause of concern.
According to the sources, the PCB is also starting to get hints to change the venue of PSL 9, due to the expected election and local administrative expenses, the board is thinking of holding the event in Dubai.
According to the sources, franchise owners are not in favor of changing the venue of PSL, they are of the opinion that they have brought the event to Pakistan with great difficulty, now it will be harmful to take it outside again.
Franchise owners added that PSL has to have big contracts which is a challenge, the issues of dealing with the challenges are being handled slowly, which is worrying.
