Quetta: In Ziarat area of Balochistan, unknown persons attacked and set fire to several trucks loaded with coal. Deputy Commissioner Harnai and security personnel were miraculously safe in the firing.
According to Express News, armed men fired at the vehicle of Deputy Commissioner Harnai in Mangi area of Ziarat last night and then attacked the trucks loaded with coal and set them on fire.
According to security sources, a separatist militant group has claimed responsibility for the incident.
Traders protested against the incident and demanded justice from the government to arrest those involved. According to the sources, traffic on the highway was closed for 6 hours after the incident.
On the other hand, Provincial Interior Minister Ziaullah Longo, taking notice of the incident in Ziarat, asked for a report within 24 hours and indicated legal action against those guilty of negligence.
He directed that the concerned authorities should form teams for the immediate arrest of the accused, and the delivery of justice to the transport owners would be ensured on priority basis.
