Riyadh: The Saudi Food Authority has strongly denied the permission to use insect powder in food products.
According to the details, the Saudi Food and Drug Authority has said that it is absolutely not allowed to use insect powder in food items in Saudi markets.
According to the website of Urgal, the truth of the claim made in a video was discovered by a local citizen on Twitter account from SFDA.
It was claimed in the video that ‘special powder made from insects is being used in soft drink and food, the local citizen asked if this claim made in the video is true?’
The SFDA reassured consumers that no drink or food in the Saudi market contains insect powder, and the claim made in the video is false.
It should be noted that earlier SFDA said in a statement that none of the food items available in the Saudi markets contain pork or any products made from it.
