Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has said that the great sacrifice of the martyrs is an expression of the unwavering determination of our brave sons who never hesitated to sacrifice for the defense of our motherland.
Two officers sacrificed their lives for the motherland while fighting bravely in the terrorist attack in North Waziristan.
According to ISPR, 39-year-old Lt. Col. Syed Kashif Ali Shaheed was a resident of Karachi, while 23-year-old Captain Muhammad Ahmad Badr Shaheed belonged to Talagang district. Funeral prayers were offered at Chaklala Garrison Rawalpindi.
President, Asif Ali Zardari, Foreign Minister, Interior Minister, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Chief of Army Staff, senior serving military and civil officers, relatives of martyrs and local people of the area participated in the funeral prayer.
The President said that the Pakistan Army has consistently maintained the ideals of faith, unity and discipline. Guided by these enduring principles, the Pakistan Army has always set the highest example of professionalism and loyalty in its war against terrorism.
President Asif Ali Zardari said that this great sacrifice is another wonderful tradition of the unwavering determination of our brave sons who never hesitated to sacrifice for the defense of our motherland. The President said that the entire nation stands in solidarity with our armed forces.
Later, the bodies of the martyrs are taken to their hometowns where they will be buried with full military honours.
