Dr. Ali Al-Samra, an interventional cardiology specialist associated with Florida-based Advent Health, donated his bone marrow to save the life of a young patient.

According to photo and video sharing social media app Instagram, when Dr. Ali Al-Samrah learned that a child was in dire need of bone marrow urgently and that he was potentially the perfect match for the child, he did not hesitate. Decided to donate his bone marrow to save her life.
39-year-old Dr. Ali Al-Samra said in a page on the social media app that he is suffering from some minor injuries but would be happy to help the child.
He said that he had an example of a friend battling cancer, whose life was saved because of a donor. He was inspired by this donor’s passion and wants others to follow suit and save lives.
“I hope when this message reaches people, it will create awareness for bone marrow donation and widen the donor pool for patients,” he said.
