The Lahore High Court gave a safe verdict in the case related to sugar price fixing that the Punjab government will set the sugar prices in the province.
A 2-member bench headed by Justice Shahid Karim delivered a safe verdict.
According to the court’s decision, the Punjab government will set the prices of sugar in the province.
The Lahore High Court invalidated the notification of the Federal Secretary Controller General Price to fix the price of sugar.
It has been said in the short judgment that the Price Act 1977 is declared null and void to the extent of Punjab, the detailed judgment will be issued later.
It should be noted that the sugar mill owners had challenged the federal government’s move to fix sugar prices.
The Lahore High Court had suspended the ongoing notification regarding the prices of sugar.
