Increase in tourist arrivals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by more than 22 lakhs

Islamabad: The arrival of tourists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has increased by more than 2.2 million, in nine months, 1.1 million tourists visited Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has released a 9-month report on the arrival of tourists on the occasion of the World Tourism Day. This report based on the arrival of domestic and foreign tourists at tourist destinations covers the period from January 2023 to September 24, 2023. During the last month, 3 thousand 369 foreign tourists visited the tourist places of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the report, a total of 1 crore 11 lakh 20 thousand 535 tourists came to various tourist spots of the province for sightseeing and entertainment, 22 lakh 60 thousand 899 tourists have come this year compared to last year, 282 foreigners while 9 lakh 57 One thousand 743 domestic tourists visited Deir Apar, 386 foreign tourists and 26 lakh 94 thousand 396 domestic tourists visited Malam Jabba, 208 foreign tourists came to Gilgit while 34 lakh 71 thousand 788 domestic tourists visited the open spaces of Gilgit.

According to the document, 641 foreign tourists came to Chitral while 33 thousand 249 domestic tourists visited Chitral Upper, 1 thousand 265 foreign tourists and 4 lakh 31 thousand 383 domestic tourists went to Chitral Lower where they visited various places, Kaghan. 587 foreign and 35 lakh 31 thousand 976 domestic tourists have enjoyed sightseeing in Naran.

According to the spokesperson of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority, the organization has installed camping pods at new places this year. Tourism Police personnel are performing their duties.
