Pakistan women team left for Saudi Arabia to participate in 6-nation football tournament

Pakistan women’s football team left for Saudi Arabia to participate in the 6-nation friendly football tournament in Saudi Arabia.

Six teams will participate in the tournament, which will be held in Saudi Arabia from September 18 to 30, including Pakistan and host Saudi Arabia, as well as Malaysia, Laos, Lebanon and Bhutan.

PFF had announced 22 players for the event yesterday. The national squad left for Saudi Arabia from Lahore on Saturday evening along with the supporting staff.

The team was earlier supposed to leave on Friday evening but the flight schedule was changed by the airline and the PFF was not informed due to which the national footballers returned from the airport on Friday.

In the event to be held in Taif, the Pakistan team will play the first match on September 21 against Malaysia and the second match on September 24 against Saudi Arabia.

If they finish in the top two positions in the group, Pakistan will qualify for the semi-finals, otherwise they will face the third ranked team in the second group for the fifth position.

The announced Pakistan women’s team for the event includes goalkeepers Nisha Ashraf, Romesa Khan and Mafia Parveen, defenders Malika, Mashal Bhatti, Sofia Qureshi, Nazalia Siddiqui, Noreen Baig and Sara Khan.

The midfield includes captain Maria Khan, Aliha Alauddin, Kainat Bukhari, Ramin Farid, Marvi Baig and Aliza Saber.

Apart from this, the forwards include Sanobar Abdul Sattar, Zahmina Malik, Zulfia Nazir, Alia Sadiq, Anmol Hera, Soha Hirani and Isra Khan in the team.
