Islamabad: DC Islamabad was charged with contempt of court for arresting PTI leaders under MPO orders.

The court indicted DC Islamabad and SSP operations in the contempt of court case for exceeding authority in issuing MPO orders against Shehryar Afridi and Shandana Gulzar.

During the hearing in the Islamabad High Court, the DC Islamabad tendered an unconditional apology, to which Justice Babar Sattar remarked that the charge sheet was scheduled to be filed today. 6 months imprisonment in this case. You also stay in jail for some time. You also know how others live in prison.

The explanatory reply was submitted in the court by DC Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon and SSP Operations Jameel Zafar. Advocate General Islamabad Ayaz Shaukat also appeared before the court as a prosecutor.

Justice Babar Sattar indicted DC Islamabad in the contempt of court case for abuse of authority. The court inquired whether you have heard the allegations. DC Islamabad denied the health crime in the court, on which Justice Babar Sattar remarked that the charge was read in front of him in the open court.

During the hearing, the process of indicting SSP Operations Jameel Zafar also started, on which he also denied the health crime in the court. The court inquired whether you want to present a defence. To which SSP Operations replied that I should be given time.

During the contempt hearing in the court, SP Farooq Buttar was also charged, to which he denied the crime. Later, the court appointed lawyer Qaiser Imam as the prosecutor in the defamation case.

The Islamabad High Court rejected the unconditional pardon of others including DC Islamabad and charged others including DC. Before the indictment, the Advocate General gave arguments and pleaded that the officers have apologized unconditionally, so no indictment should be filed. On which Justice Babar Sattar remarked that how can you not file charges? Contempt of court case is going on here, you are still issuing MPO orders.

The court rejected the advocate general’s plea and charged all the named officers.
