Washington: Senior US diplomat Victoria Nuland has stressed the importance of “timely, free and fair elections” in Pakistan to Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani.
In a statement released by the US State Department, Acting Deputy Secretary Victoria Nuland and Foreign Minister Jilani discussed the importance of timely, free and fair elections in accordance with the laws and constitution of Pakistan.
Victoria Nuland and Jalil Abbas Jilani also discussed Pakistan’s economic stability and continued engagement with the IMF, the State Department said.
