2 children out of 8 persons trapped in a hanging chairlift due to rope break at a height of 900 feet in Alai Pashtu area of Butgram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been safely rescued by sling operation, by helicopter due to sunset and weather. Details of people trapped in the lift

Among those trapped are Abrar Abdul Ghani, Irfan Umar Aziz, Gulfaraz Hakim Dad, Osama Sharif, Rizwan Abdul Qayyum, Attaullah, Niaz Muhammad and Sher Nawaz. According to reports, 2 children in the lift have become unconscious.

Caretaker Prime Minister’s instructions to utilize all resources
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar has issued instructions to immediately rescue the people trapped in the chairlift at Pashto in Bitgram. He has directed the NDMA, PDMA and all other relevant rescue agencies to use all resources to rescue the students and teachers.
He has directed to ensure safety arrangements on all such chairlifts in the hilly areas and said that the dilapidated and non-compliant chairlifts should be closed immediately.
