Galle Test, fourth day's play begins

The fourth day of the Test match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka has started in Galle.

Sri Lanka captain Dimuth Karunaratne scored 6 and Nishan Madushka opened the fourth day’s play with 8 runs.

In the second innings, 4 players were dismissed for 99 runs, Nishan Madushka was dismissed for 52 runs, he was also dismissed by Nauman Ali.

The first wicket of the host team fell for 42 runs, Dimuth Karunaratne was dismissed for 20 runs off the ball of Abrar Ahmed while the second wicket fell for 79 runs, Kaushal Mendes was dismissed for 18 runs by Nauman Ali.

Sri Lanka’s third wicket fell on 91 runs, Angelo Mathews was dismissed for 7 off Nouman Ali.

Pakistan’s first innings

In the first innings, Pakistan team was bowled out for 461 runs, middle order batsman Saud Shakeel played an unbeaten innings of 208 runs, with which the national team got a lead of 149 runs over the home team.

The Pakistan team started the third day’s play with 221 runs for the loss of 5 wickets.

Saud Shakeel and Agha Salman formed a great partnership of 177 runs off 218 balls which changed the course of the match.

Saud Shakeel scored the first double century of his career and also created history in Sri Lanka.

Saud Shakeel became the first Pakistani batsman to score a double century in Sri Lanka.

Ramesh Mendis took 5 wickets for Sri Lanka. Prabhat Jayasuriya dismissed three players while Kisun Rajitha and Vishwa Fernando guided one batter to the pavilion.

It should be noted that despite losing early wickets, the Sri Lankan team posted a total of 312 on the board in the first innings.

Dhananjaya de Silva was the top scorer for the host team with 122 runs.

Sri Lanka’s Angelo Mathews scored 64 and Sudira Samarawakarma scored 36 runs.

For Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah and Abrar Ahmed took 3 wickets each while Agha Salman dismissed one player.
