In Pakistan, 3 out of every 4 people suffer from oral cancer, National Health Institute Islamabad National Cancer Registry has released the first review report of cancer cases.
According to the report, mouth cancer is most common in men followed by liver, colon, lung, prostate cancer.
The report states that breast, ovarian, oral, serous cancers are most common among women while colon cancer is also found.
According to the report, apart from this, cases of blood cancer in children and bone cancer in teenagers are common.
In the review report, the highest number of cancer cases were recorded in women at 53.61% and 46.7% in men.
According to the report, 45.13% cancer cases were reported in Punjab, 26.83% in Sindh, 16.46% in KP and 3.52% in Balochistan.
According to the report, mouth cancer was found to be the second most common cancer in Pakistan, followed by colon cancer in the third place, liver cancer in the fourth place and lung cancer in the fifth place. Which is mostly done in Sindh, KPK and Balochistan.
According to the National Cancer Registry report, 2,69,202 cancer cases were evaluated from 2015-2019. Colon cancer cases are increasing rapidly among the youth in Pakistan, which is mainly due to high consumption of fast food.
According to the report, a significant change in diet led to an increase in cancer.
