Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairmanship contender Zaka Ashraf rejected the hybrid model of the Asia Cup even before assuming the chair.
Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Communication Ehsan Mazari and Zaka Ashraf addressed the event in Islamabad.
Zaka Ashraf said that there are many problems in PCB, I don’t want to speak against anyone.
“I had already rejected the hybrid model,” he said, adding that the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) had given Pakistan the Asia Cup to host.
The strong contender for the PCB chairmanship added that Pakistan should host the full Asia Cup, due to the hybrid model important matches will be outside, Nepal and Bhutan matches will be played in Pakistan.
He said that hybrid model is unfair to Pakistan, I will try to improve in PCB.
Zaka Ashraf also said that Asia Cup and World Cup 2023 are coming, we have to prepare for them.
During the ceremony, Ehsan Mazari said that the term of PCB Management Committee has ended on June 19, now the Management Committee can no longer work.
He said that it was the wish of the PPP leadership that Zaka Ashraf should be nominated as the chairman of the cricket board.
The federal minister further said that India uses cricket as politics, football and hockey teams can visit, so why not the cricket team?
