Former Indian Test cricketer Virender Sehwag also appreciated the hospitality of Pakistanis.
During an interview in a web show, Virender Sehwag, while talking about the Indian cricket team’s visit to Pakistan in 2003, said that the Pakistani people welcomed him there.
He said that when we visited Pakistan in 2003, we got a lot of love from the Pakistani people.
He added that before the second Test in Lahore we went shopping, I bought 30 to 35 Pakistani suits for my family from the local market but the shopkeeper refused to take the money from me saying I was a guest. And he cannot take money from a guest in his country.
Virender Sehwag said that ‘We got such love everywhere in Pakistan that we got emotional seeing it’.
He finished his talk and said that ‘hearing the memories of the people there before the partition of India brought tears to our eyes’.
It may be recalled that India visited Pakistan in 2003 to play 5 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and 3 Tests.
On this tour, India won the ODI series 3-2 and the Test series 2-1.
